Send a parcel from Paris to Bamako

From Montreuil to Seine-Saint-Denis, the Malian diaspora of the Paris region has long entrusted parcels to whoever is flying home. Yadony puts a proper framework around that habit: to send a parcel from Paris to Bamako, you pick a traveller whose identity has been verified and follow your shipment right through to handover.

How it works

There are two ways to go about it. Browse the Paris–Bamako trips posted by travellers and book space in their suitcase, or post your own shipping request (weight, contents, photos) and let travellers send you offers. You then arrange a meeting in the Paris region, near Charles de Gaulle or Orly for instance, and the traveller scans the parcel's QR code the moment you hand it over.

What it costs

Each traveller picks their own pricing: a rate per kilo, a per-item price list (a box of clothes, a phone, tins of baby formula) or an openness to price offers. So you can discuss the amount before committing. Yadony's service fee is always shown before you pay.

How long it takes

If the traveller has a direct flight, allow about 5.5 hours to Bamako-Sénou airport; with a stopover, the journey often takes between 8 and 14 hours depending on the connection. You see the departure date before booking, and the parcel arrives with the traveller, not weeks later at the bottom of a shipping container.

Tracking and safety

The traveller has verified their identity (ID document and selfie, with Didit or Stripe Identity) before posting their trip. Whether you pay by card, mobile money or from your Yadony wallet, the money is held until delivery. Your family in Bamako follows every stage (handed over, in flight, arrived, delivered) on a web page, without creating an account.

Frequently asked questions about this corridor

Can I pay for a Bamako shipment with mobile money?

Yes. As well as card and your Yadony wallet, you can pay with mobile money (Orange Money, Moov, Wave or MTN, depending on the operators available), which is handy if you hold an account in CFA francs. Just as with a card, the amount is held until delivery is confirmed.

What if I would rather pay the traveller in cash?

You can if the traveller agrees, but the money then bypasses escrow: Yadony can neither hold it until delivery nor refund you if something goes wrong. For a valuable parcel, paying in the app remains the safest option.

How does the handover work in Bamako?

The traveller and your recipient agree on a time and place after landing. Your relative gives the 6-digit collection code you passed on to them, the traveller takes a geotagged photo, and delivery is confirmed: only then is the traveller paid.
