Terms of use

YADONY SAS ("Yadony") publishes a mobile and web application connecting travellers leaving France for West Africa with senders wishing to send parcels to their relatives. Yadony secures these exchanges through identity verification, payment held until delivery, and parcel traceability at every step. These Terms of Use apply to any use of the platform. Signing up constitutes acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept them, you must not use the platform. This English version is provided for convenience; the French version prevails.

Article 1. Who can use Yadony?

The application is open to any adult (18 or over) with the capacity to contract. One account per phone number.

Every user can both send parcels and carry them. There is no role to choose at sign-up: both possibilities are available to everyone from account creation.

Before paying, publishing a trip or sending a parcel, every user must verify their identity: a photo of their ID document and a selfie with liveness detection. The answer is given within 24 hours. Verified accounts display the "Identity verified" badge.

Article 2. What Yadony does (and does not do)

Yadony is an intermediary. It connects travellers and senders, secures payments and provides tracking and dispute-management tools. Yadony is not a carrier: it does not physically transport parcels.

Travellers are private individuals or transport professionals.

Yadony operates on international corridors between Europe, the United States, Canada and Africa. The list of available corridors can be consulted in the application and may change.

Article 3. Publishing a listing (traveller)

Any verified traveller can publish a listing. It must state the route, departure date, available kilos (1 to 30 kg), price per kilo, the handover and pick-up locations (with the geographic area and practical arrangements), and the accepted payment methods.

You can create listing templates and schedule recurring trips (automatic publication according to your calendar).

A listing can be edited as long as no request has been accepted. If you delete it, pending requests are automatically declined and the senders concerned are informed. If senders had already paid, they are refunded in full, automatically. In that case the traveller must return any parcels already handed over: the application generates a return code the traveller must enter to confirm the sender has recovered their parcel. Until that code is validated, the traveller's account is blocked.

Article 4. Sending a parcel (sender)

To send a parcel, you fill in a form: weight, description of the contents, photos, declared value (maximum €500) and the recipient's details.

Before confirming, you electronically sign a warning about prohibited goods and your customs liability. That signature is kept as evidence.

The traveller reviews your full declaration before accepting. If they find at handover that the contents do not match, they can refuse the parcel without penalty. You are then refunded automatically.

Prohibited items

The following items may not be sent:

  • Drugs, narcotics or illicit substances
  • Weapons, explosives or hazardous materials
  • Counterfeits or goods prohibited by customs
  • Live animals
  • Official documents (passports, identity cards, residence permits)
  • Any item whose transport, import or export is prohibited or subject to special authorisation under the law of the departure country, destination country or any transit country

Article 5. Matching

When a sender submits a request compatible with your listing, you receive a notification. You accept or decline (reason optional). If you accept, you set a handover appointment: a place and a time slot of 4 hours maximum.

If you do not confirm your presence as the appointment approaches, the sender receives an alert 2 hours before.

Price negotiation happens directly in the application. All offers and counter-offers are recorded.

Article 6. Parcel tracking

At handover, the traveller scans the parcel's QR code (DON-XXXXXX format) and takes a photo. The parcel is then scanned at three stages: Departure, Transit and Arrival. Every scan is timestamped and geolocated.

The sender follows the journey in real time in the application. The recipient in the destination country can track the parcel from a simple web page, with no account or application, even on a basic phone with a slow connection.

If the traveller has no network (airport, plane), scans are stored and sent automatically as soon as the connection returns.

Article 7. Payment

Payment methods

Payments are processed by licensed providers. Yadony never stores card numbers. You can pay by:

  • Bank card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay or Google Pay via Stripe
  • Mobile Money: Wave and Orange Money
  • Yadony wallet (balance top-up in the application)

Any payment made outside the platform is prohibited. The messaging system automatically blocks attempts to exchange contact details to bypass Yadony.

Biometric validation (fingerprint, Face ID or PIN code) is optional before any payment.

Money held in escrow

As soon as you pay, the money is immediately held by Stripe. No one can touch it before delivery is confirmed.

Delivery is confirmed by the recipient: they enter a 6-digit code received by SMS on the tracking page. The traveller is paid within the following 24 hours.

If the recipient does not confirm within 48 hours, the Yadony team can release the payment manually, only after a check. That action is logged. An honest traveller never waits indefinitely.

Commission

Yadony charges a 5% commission on each transaction. It is deducted automatically. In the event of a refund, the commission is never kept: you get back everything you paid.

Cancellations and refunds

If the traveller cancels their trip: automatic full refund of all senders (3 to 5 business days). Yadony offers you a replacement traveller within 72 hours.

If the sender cancels before handover, they are refunded in full.

Article 8. Ratings

After each delivery, the sender and the traveller can rate each other (1 to 5 stars plus a comment), within 7 days. The recipient can also rate the traveller from the web page, without an account.

Ratings must reflect a real experience. Yadony automatically detects fake ratings and excludes them from the average.

The Kilo Pro badge

This badge distinguishes reliable travellers. It is granted to travellers who have:

  • At least 5 confirmed deliveries
  • An average rating of 4.0 or higher over the last 5 deliveries
  • No active suspension
  • Deliveries made to at least 5 different recipients, at least 7 days apart (to prevent gaming)

Article 9. Yadony PRO (professional travellers)

Travellers who work the route regularly (several times a month) can access the Yadony PRO web space. It offers a full dashboard: recurring-trip management with automatic publication, automations, rate cards, a pricing assistant, tax export and activity statistics.

Access is reserved for PRO accounts. A regular traveller can request an upgrade to a PRO account from the application.

Article 10. Disputes

You have 48 hours after delivery to report a problem through the application. After that, the delivery is deemed compliant and the traveller is paid.

The Yadony team holds all the evidence: scans, photos, messages, signed declaration. It notifies the traveller within 24 hours and issues a decision within 72 hours at most. In case of disagreement, Yadony decides on evidence, not on word.

In the event of proven loss or damage, Yadony may refund up to €50 per incident (internal guarantee fund), within the limit of the declared value. Excluded from the guarantee: undeclared or prohibited contents, the absence of a geolocated delivery photo, and disputes reported late.

A sender who opens 3 disputes without evidence is suspended automatically.

If the dispute is not resolved to your satisfaction, you can turn free of charge to an approved consumer mediator.

Article 11. Fraud protection

Yadony includes several automatic protections:

  • One phone number = one account
  • Detection of accounts sharing the same bank details
  • Automatic filtering of messages attempting to exchange contact details to bypass the platform
  • Automatic suspension after 2 parcels refused for non-compliant contents
  • Detection of fake ratings (the same people rating each other, series of 5 stars with no comment)
  • A tamper-proof log of all sensitive actions

Article 12. Liability

Yadony: responsible for the proper operation of the platform and the escrow. Yadony is not responsible for the contents of parcels, for damage during transport, or for users' actions.

The traveller: responsible for the parcel from the departure scan until delivery is confirmed. In the event of loss or damage, their liability is engaged up to the declared value.

The sender: responsible for the compliance of their parcel. Any false declaration engages their sole liability, including in the event of customs or criminal proceedings.

Article 12bis. Travellers' tax responsibility

Yadony is an intermediation platform. Income received by travellers through the application (payments received for carrying parcels) is personal income falling under their own tax responsibility.

Each traveller is solely responsible for declaring their income to the competent tax authorities of their country of residence, in accordance with applicable local law. Yadony provides no tax advice and assumes no responsibility for non-declaration or incorrect declaration of income generated through the platform.

The Yadony PRO space provides professional travellers with an export of their transaction history for personal accounting purposes. This tool is provided for information only and does not constitute tax assistance.

Article 13. Your personal data (GDPR)

Yadony complies with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For any question: dpo@yadony.com.

We collect only the data needed to run the service: identity (KYC), contact details, transaction data, delivery photos and browsing data. We never store your bank details (handled directly by Stripe). Biometric data collected during identity verification is deleted as soon as verification ends.

Your data is kept for as long as you use your account plus 3 years. Transaction data is kept for 5 years (statutory accounting obligation). Identity documents are kept for 5 years after your relationship with Yadony ends.

You can at any time view, edit, export or delete your data from the application settings. When an account is deleted: profile data anonymised, identity documents erased, recipient address book cleared (except payment history, kept for 5 years).

For any unresolved complaint, you can contact the CNIL: www.cnil.fr.

Transfers outside the European Union

As part of the corridors to West Africa, some data may be transferred to Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Mali or Cameroon. These transfers are governed by the mechanisms provided for by the GDPR. Photos and documents are stored on European servers.

Article 14. Notifications

Yadony sends you notifications through the application (primary channel) and by SMS (backup channel). For the 3 critical events — payment received, delivery confirmed, dispute opened — if your phone does not acknowledge receipt within 60 seconds, an SMS is sent automatically. Two different SMS operators ensure continuity in case of outage.

Article 15. Intellectual property

All platform content (brand, logo, code, database, design) belongs to YADONY SAS. Any unauthorised reproduction is prohibited. By publishing content on Yadony, you grant Yadony the right to use it to operate the service.

Article 16. What is prohibited

It is prohibited to publish false information, to contact other users off the platform to avoid paying the commission, to use Yadony for illicit purposes or to attempt to bypass the security systems.

In the event of a violation, Yadony may remove your content, suspend or permanently close your account, and report the facts to the competent authorities.

Article 17. Account closure

You can delete your account at any time from the application settings, unless a transaction is in progress. Yadony may close an account without notice in the event of a serious breach of these Terms or fraudulent behaviour.

Article 18. Changes to these Terms

Yadony may change these Terms at any time. You will be informed by e-mail or in-app notification at least 30 days in advance. If you continue to use the platform after that date, you accept the new Terms. Otherwise, you can close your account.

Article 19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute not resolved amicably, the courts of Paris have jurisdiction. Users residing in Europe can also use the European online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
